Château Sainte Roseline has a strong connection with contemporary art. For the Bertin-Meunier-Teillaud family, art is more than a passion: it is a true art de vivre. For nearly twenty-five years, the Château has welcomed established artists each summer and exhibited monumental works throughout the estate.
This summer, Château Sainte Roseline is hosting the contemporary art exhibition “Le Baiser d’une Rose”, created by artist Eva Claessens. Installed in the estate’s gardens, along the avenue leading to the communal Chapel of Sainte Roseline and near the boutique, her marble sculptures invite visitors to experience nature, emotion, and the poetry of form through a sensitive and contemplative gaze.

Bringing together ten marble sculptures, the exhibition Le Baiser d’une Rose explores the notion of connection: the bond that unites people with one another, but also the more subtle link that connects us to nature. Through forms imbued with softness and fragility, Eva Claessens captures suspended moments in which bodies draw close, embrace, and sometimes seem to merge into one another. Marble thus becomes the witness to a universal gesture: that of the embrace. Through their presence, both powerful and delicate, the works invite each visitor to project their own emotions onto them.

Eva Claessens, a Contemporary Artist with a Sensitive Artistic Language
Born in Antwerp in 1971, Eva Claessens is a visual artist whose work explores painting, sculpture, ceramics and graphic design. Trained in Perugia, Italy, she has developed a sensitive artistic universe centred on the human figure, emotions and the bonds that connect human beings to their environment.
Her works are distinguished by their softness, spontaneity and apparent lightness. They capture suspended moments, often marked by the closeness of bodies, the movement of a gesture or the fragility of an emotion.
Through her marble sculptures, Eva Claessens gives form to a universal gesture: the embrace. Her works invite visitors to slow down, observe and feel, in an intimate dialogue between art, emotion and contemplation.
